The Wilderness Greenhouse
The Diakon Wilderness Greenhouse is a native plant and teaching nursery.
Here young people served by Diakon learn skills, gain workplace experience, build relationships and deepen their understanding of the world around them.
Students, staff, volunteers and partners grow and sell more than 200 species of flowering plants, ferns, grasses, shrubs and trees native to Central Pennsylvania for wildlife and restoration. Proceeds benefit Diakon Youth Services and our work with children, youths and families.
June 2021 update: Thank you for a phenomenal Spring 2021 season; it was our best season by far!
Please note that we are open by appointment only during the summer, but will resume regularly scheduled nursery hours beginning Sept. 11, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Our online store is currently offline, but will return the week of July 12.
As always, email us if you have any questions or we can be of service.
