Accommodations you can afford
As an equal opportunity housing provider, Lutherwood offers residence to eligible persons 62 years of age or older or to physically challenged individuals 18 years of age or older.
Lutherwood offers one-bedroom apartments equipped with a full kitchen, a private handicapped-accessible bath, wall-to-wall carpeting in the living/dining area and bedroom, ample closet space throughout, and individually controlled heating/air-conditioning units. Each kitchen is furnished with an electric range and refrigerator.
Every floor of Lutherwood boasts spacious lounges, with some offering breathtaking views of Lake Scranton. Residents also enjoy a ground-level terrace and balconies on each floor that serves as the perfect place to read a book or chat with a friend. The terrace level also offers a large community room for residents and computers for tenant's use. Incorporating a billiards table, library, and kitchen, it serves as a perfect location for social gatherings, dinners, and meetings. A large library also is available for residents for gatherings or relaxation.
Just off the community room are individual U.S. Postal Service mailboxes for residents. For residents' convenience, each floor of Lutherwood also includes a laundry room equipped with coin-operated washers and dryers.
Outside, residents can enjoy a wooded setting that serves as the perfect environment for summer picnics or fall entertaining. The area boasts charcoal grills, picnic tables, and terrace-level benches and tables.
Social amenities galore
Lutherwood offers a varied social network, with residents able to choose to participate in numerous events. A Service Coordinator organizes holiday activities, special dinners, and weekly activities. Lutherwood residents also remain active in the larger community, with many volunteering at various local non-profit organizations.
Lutherwood provides scheduled transportation to designated shopping areas such as grocery stores, nearby malls, and retail outlets. Hourly public transportation adds an extra convenience, with residents able to ride the Colts bus system, with a pick-up and drop-off point at Lutherwood’s front entrance.
A peace-of-mind environment
Lutherwood residents live independently in a safe, smoke-free, secure environment. All building entrances are locked, with residents using a front-door fob-access system. The front entrance also is monitored during day hours, and visitors are regulated by residents via a phone-access system. Lutherwood has smoke alarms, an emergency-lighting system, central fire/heat detectors, a sprinkler system for fire, handrails in the hallways, and grab bars in the bathrooms. The grounds, including parking areas, are well-lighted and well-kept. A 24-hour answering service is available for emergencies.
