David Baker

David Baker is Senior Vice President for information technology and facilities planning, a role he previously held with Diakon before serving with another organization beginning in 2012; he returned to Diakon in 2018.

Mr. Baker joined Tressler Lutheran Services, one of the two organizations that created Diakon in 2000, in 1997 as director of facility management and telecommunications. He later served as vice president for technology services before being named to the broader role in both technology and facilities planning and development.

He has more than 20 years’ experience in the acute and long-term health-care industries in technology services and systems. Mr. Baker holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Albright College, a master’s degree in information systems from the University of Phoenix and a Stanford Certified Project Manager certification from Stanford University.

He has been active in the use of technology to assist older adults and was responsible for the construction of several "smart homes" on the campus of The Lutheran Home at Topton in the mid-2000s.
